 TAI CHI BREATHING

The first skill that everyone learns is correct breathing.
We breath from the lower abdomen. This called the Tan Tien or Dan Tien.

1. Place your thumb in your belly and place your palm over your lower abdomen.
 2. Relax your shoulders and place your tongue at the roof of your mouth with the tip of your tongue behind your two front teeth.
3. Breathe in through the nose and let your breath go all the way down to your abdomen. Exhale through your mouth.
4. Breathe deeply. Check to see if abdomen is moving as you breathe in and aout. Relax your jaw and take at least five deep relaxing breaths. You can practice this standing up, sitting or even lying down.
